It's a celebration! Owens for the forth year in a row is recipient of the 2004 Critics' Award from Living Blues magazine, the world's leading blues magazine, named "Most Outstanding Blues Musician" in the trumpet/sax/horn section category. Additionally, Owens captured "Best Texas Blues CD of the Year" and "Best Independent Album" awards from Real Blues magazine. He plans to do it all again, with the release of this year's CD, The Calvin Owens Show.

Calvin Owens has firmly established himself as the genius behind The Calvin Owens Blues Orchestra (COBO), a large ensemble that creates a vibrant blend of big band jazz, blues, and funk, with some Zydeco and Latin beats as well. On his Sawdust Alley Records label, he has introduced the distinctive sound of COBO to a whole new generation of fans.
